Hi, I am the author of OWL and also the new History tab. Good to see that people are interested in this feature. Let me know if you have any comments or ideas.

About the database - it is separate from the production server as Moonlight said. I will fix the links to changesets/ways/nodes so they point to openstreetmap.org but it is not possible to share your account between dev server and production server.
