Hi,

For simplify of work with public transport stops you can use plugin for JOSM. You must select platform and call dialog (letter "u" or menu "'tools"/"customize stop"). In dialog enter stop name and select transport types. Press "Save" and plugin will customize your platform and create stop point and stop area relation. Also plugin will setup stop point and platform under public transport standard version 1 for backward compability
